[For Grigg.]
Things had gotten a little weird since watching that film reel, sure, but Karen was determined not to let it bother her or inform how she went on living her life on the island. TV-Karen and Real-Karen had split nearly two years ago, and while sure, she would like to have kids one day (and the idea of having them with Nick didn't freak her out at all) she was still determined to move at the pace she wanted.
Which meant if she wanted to take up Grigg's promise to let her try out his lightsaber, then she absolutely would. You couldn't outgrow being a geek, after all.
She was in a pretty good mood as she made her way over to the boarding house and up to Grigg's room. She might have even knocked to the tune of the Star Wars theme in her head, but she would never admit it.

Then again he couldn't pass up the fact that some of his neighbours turned out to be kind of well, legendary. Nearly tripping over a wayward book, he opened the door to his room with a grin on his face. "Karen, hi."

Logic wasn't applicable when you had the chance to use a real live lightsaber.
"Hi," she said, giving him a small wave. "Are you busy?"
no subject
It didn't.
Instead he was just reminded that he really should clean more often. Shaking his head, he turned to face her once more. "Nope, not really."

Turning back around, he fumbled around with somethings on one of the shelves for a moment before pulling the precious object down and returning to the door. "Ready?"
no subject
To get into a space big and safe enough to use a real lightsaber.

"Now, apparently none of us are actually qualified to weild this since we've not be trained and could be seriously injured," he told her once they were outside. "Which I was warned about by just you know, Dr Crusher from Star Trek."

A girl, specifically.
"Eden?" she asked, giving him a very interested look.
no subject
"Yeah, Eden McCain," he clarified with a slow nod, clearing his throat a bit. "She's um, a friend of mine. But there's no way you can get out of Iron Man so fast."
no subject
"I totally got him to karaoke Iron Man," she said. "And a friend helped, too, but it was pretty much the greatest thing I've ever seen."
no subject
"I am definitely jealous and kind of heartbroken that I missed it. It's one of those once in a lifetime never say die experiences."

It felt kind of strange to say something like that, but this wasn't the sort of thing that Grigg minded admitting to. He knew it might be a bit like counting his chickens before they hatched, but this one seemed kind of nice.

She was working her way up to asking to hold it.
no subject
"Oh yeah. It doesn't even come close." He looked down at the sabre and then at Karen. "You want to...you wanna hold it?"
